Recently Consilio welcomed Amelia Rubio, a high school senior for a one-week internship/work immersion program with Consilio’s marketing team. Interested in exploring her marketing, design, and illustration interests, she worked with the Consilio team to develop this year’s Earth Day campaign. In this blog post, she reflects on her experience:
Can you explain what your project was?
Consilio partnered with Plant Trees, an organization that plants trees on behalf of a donation. For my internship project, I was assigned to highlight that partnership through marketing and design.
In your own words, why was this campaign important to you?
The campaign was important to me because trees are so valuable. I also like to see communities come together and help make a difference, no matter how small.
While working here, what did you enjoy and learn through your internship experience?
I enjoyed learning more about Illustration and drawing. It was fun to see it come to life and work with people with so much expertise.
What was the best part of your internship experience?
The best part was working with everyone as the community was so nice and wholesome. It was overall a great work environment.
What were the biggest challenges you experienced?
The biggest challenge was the marketing element since there were so many aspects to consider when I was developing the first phase of the plan. Illustrator also kept crashing on me, so that was a design challenge I faced.
Would you recommend working for Consilio to other interns?
I would highly recommend this internship to anyone interested in marketing, campaigning, or the design world. Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable that you can learn so much. It’s also a very pleasant setting to work in.
How would you describe our company culture?
It’s very positive and everyone helps each other. Even though I was a kid working with very skilled and knowledgeable adults, I never felt uncomfortable or condescended. The culture felt laid back as everyone got along, and nothing felt too uptight. However, you could tell everyone worked hard and diligently.
